South Mumbai the southern-most precinct of the city of Mumbai comprises the city’s main business localities and its adjoining areas. It is the richest urban arcade in India, and houses most of the city’s elite. Fort is a business district in South Mumbai. Many leading Indian and multi-national companies are headquartered here. Ismail building is situated on the Dadabhai Naoroji Road (or D. N. Road), an important road in Fort area. This area is the heart of the financial area of the city. Institutions such as the Bombay Stock Exchange, Reserve Bank of India and many brokerage firms are located in this area. This area hosts India’s famous five star hotels like The Taj, Ambassador hotel, Intercontinental Hotel, Hilton Towers and Oberoi Hotel. Many national and international banks are also located in the proximity.
The building is located in walking distance from two of the most prominent Railway Station in the city Victoria terminus and Churchgate. Many distinctive sporting clubs have been an integral part of this area landscape like the Willingdon Sports Club, the Turf Club, The Bombay Gymkhana, and the Malabar Hill Club. The CCI and MCA are located at Mumbai’s two cricket stadiums, Brabourne and Wankhede respectively.
