The building comprises of a villa over two floors with a projecting semi-circular lounge and terrace. The villa is considered to be a landmark in Malta and a point of reference in the architectural history of the Maltese Islands. Built in the post war period around 1940s-1950s, it was the abode of a famous Maltese Architect Salvatore Ellul. It was one of the first contemporary pieces of architecture in the area, which area today now houses numerous embassies, insurance companies and other service companies. For this reason the villa has been listed due to its architectural and historic importance. The building is scheduled by the Planning authority as a Grade II heritage property.
