Visiting clients can be entertained in one of the many restaurants, bars and cafés around the area. Redbridge has been named a ‘Major Metropolitan Centre’ in the London Plan and as such labelled as an area of activity, attracting people for shopping, working, studying and socialising.

Fairlop Waters Golf Course is central to the district, while Wanstead Flats, a treeless area with ponds and lakes, provides a relaxing area for al fresco dining.

The top attractions of central London are also within easy reach and provide a plethora of options for meeting with clients.

Area history

Years ago, most bridges in the area were made of white stone, while the bridge over the River Roding was made out of a stand-out red brick. The distinctive colour of the bridge is said to be how Redbridge earned its name.

Today, it is a thriving metropolitan centre, renowned for its beautiful parks, with around a third of the area designated as green belt land.

Redbridge is known to have a more diverse population than most other London boroughs, with nearly 40% of the population from ethnic minorities. The area is also distinctly youthful, with more than a fifth of residents under the age of 16.

Ilford is the borough’s central town and is a hub for public transport. The mainline rail service, Greater Anglia, comes into Ilford from the east and takes only 18 minutes to reach London Liverpool Street, where tenants can join London’s Underground network, as well as take over-ground trains to The North of England. The Greater Anglia service stops at many other stations throughout Redbridge, including Chadwell Heath, Goodmayes and Seven Kings.

While Luton and Stanstead are the closest airports, accessible in an hour, all of London’s airports are in easy reach, with the furthest, Gatwick, taking an hour and a half.
