Caernarfon, a royal town, community and port in Gwynedd, Wales, lies along the A487 road, on the eastern shore of the Menai Straits and opposite the Isle of Anglesey. Caernarfon's historical prominence and landmarks make it a major tourist centre. As a result, many of the businesses in the area are directed towards the tourist trade, home to numerous guest houses, inns and pubs, hotels, restaurants and shops.
