100 Buildings in a Day - A Christmas Flexi World Record

Last Christmas we set ourselves a challenge to complete a world record in the flexi industry. Attempting to visit a whopping one hundred buildings by our providers in the space of one day. The challenge was accepted by Leigh Blanks, Senior Business Account Manager at Flexioffices. 

The concept of this charitable record was simple, for every building visited, £10 would be donated to a charity that would be decided internally by the Flexi team.

Leigh explains: “Visiting 80 buildings in one day was exhausting and the blisters lasted weeks!

“The weather was not on our side either, which really puts into perspective how awful being out in these conditions is.

“We decided there and then that the money should go to the homeless. This is such a lovely thing for Flexioffices to do and I am proud to be a part of it.”

With a fantastic effort and an extremely long day of walking and travelling, Leigh smashed it and managed 80 buildings. Meaning we raised £800 for the selected charity Centrepoint.

Centrepoint is a charity that helps homeless young people, supporting more than 15,000 homeless 16–25-year-olds a year into a home and a job.

Tara Willoughby, Corporate Business Development Coordinator at Centrepoint comments: “Last year we saw an increase in calls to our helpline by 50%, and we are yet to see the longer term impact that unemployment and self-isolation will have on homeless young people’s wellbeing up and down the country.

“The need for our services to remain open has never been greater. Your donation will make a huge difference in helping us do this as we continue to navigate a global pandemic.

“With the unavoidable economic impact on our supporters and the continuous freeze of some of our most popular events; our fundraising has been hugely impacted.”
